President Obama to the GOP-Why are you endorsing him
President Obama wants the Republicans to know that Donald Trump represents them.
Yesterday during a press conference, President Obama told Republicans that they need to do some deep soul searching when it comes to their support of their presidential nominee.
President Obama told reporters, “And the question I think that they have to ask themselves is if you are repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him? What does this say about your party that this is your standard bearer?”
Some Republicans like Senators Lindsey Graham (SC), Mark Kirk (IL), Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, and 2012 Republican Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney have decided to write-in a candidate's name instead.
Gov. Chris Christie’s (NJ) former aide Maria Comella and former President George W. Bush’s aide Sally Bradshaw have said that they will vote for Hillary Clinton.
The party leadership, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, have not withdrawn their support.
However, Donald Trump has decided to not support Ryan or Sen. John McCain (R-AZ).
